Coats House

Welcome to Coats House, built by Moses Coats in 1835, and lovingly refurbished for your comfort.

After a busy day of baseball and Cooperstown, relax in the country, snooze in the shade in the hammock, or rest in the porch swing, and listen to the creek.

Coats House has the old style charm of wide plank wood floors, ornate woodwork, some antique furnishings, beamed kitchen ceiling, two fireplaces, and claw foot bath tub, with modern conveniences.

The stately house is situated on 75 scenic acres. The rooms are spacious, over 3,000 square foot total. The shade trees and evening breezes keep the house comftorable, but there are fans and two air conditioners.

There is a bedroom with two twin beds, a bedroom with two double beds, and two bedrooms with a double bed in each.

The upstairs bath has a tub and separate shower, the down stairs bath has a shower.

There is a six burner Garland stove if you wish to cook, and large butcher block island for buffets.

There is a brick patio and outdoor fireplace, large lawn areas for outdoor enjoyment.

Coats House is just south of Roseboom, 1/2 mile to the country store for gas/ groceries, and a restaurant.

This is not a high traffic area, it is an easy 15 to 20 minute drive to the Dreams Park, Otsego Lake, or the Opera.

This is a horse farm, families enjoy seeing the Arabian horses and foals in the pasture. There are barn cats, but no pets in the house.
